Mystery 1.

First born, develops an uncharacteristic rash (in the sense that he’s never shown such a symptom before). I packed him with Benadryl and he just got worse. Off to the ER! The solution (at 3am) was to, give him more Benadryl. Imagine my displeasure. Still don’t know what actually caused him to have this issue, but he hasn’t has a recurrence and I’m not particularly sure it wasn’t just a new presentation of his already present allergies.

Mystery 2.

I have had this flipping cough for the past two weeks. I won’t go to the doctor, mainly because it’s not a cough worth 20USD to be told to take cough syrup. I’m not taking cough syrup, medicine is for dying not inconvenience. First born then became ill and I followed suit not too terribly long after. Yay! I came to work today though, and am immediately regretting having done that.

Now, to address comments I missed!

I have not, nor have I ever said that the state of Israel should lay down its weapons. That’s silly. I have said, and will continue to say, that Israel is abusive to the general Palestinian populace. You don’t have to agree…I don’t require you to do so. That’s my opinion based on research and documentary information both in and outside of the Israel state. Which did you know isn’t a democracy in the traditional sense either? I might elaborate on that later. You’d be surprised to knwo some of the interesting things you dig up on that.

Gary, I love you like a step cousin. ^_^ I know you’ve been waiting for me to respond to you, and I am. I had an interesting chit chat with a lady who deals directly with the homosexual population in New York, and is homosexual herself. She regularly interacts with organizations which distribute condoms and provide sex-ed for people both in the US and outside of the US such as in Africa.

Were you aware, that one of the reasons in which condom usage has such a hard time taking hold and being of greater than the somewhat minimal impact it has been having so far has a lot to do with the fact that Africa (seemingly across the board) has a hard time with the supply sector? The delivery of condoms to the states work just fine, but the delivery to the populace (from the state to the general population) is plagued with issues. These issues prevent timely and accurate dessimination of both supplies and education.

Now, you seem to think that I personally believe that condoms are the only way in which to stop HIV spreading in Africa. I haven’t said that, and if I alluded to that then I take back whatever statement sent you down that road, if that’s the way you’re going.

All I’ve said and will continue to say without fail, is that condom usage is the turnkey in preventing the spread of HIV. Faith isn’t going to do it. Pretending like it is, is disengenuious. What the pope said, and we can all quote him forever about it, was irresponsible. If you disagree with that, I’m sorry. I work in the healthcare field, as an IT person; however, I’ve spent my time in clinical areas listening to the education that is given out to doctors in meeting halls. Condoms help, they don’t harm, as the pope seems to think. The key to condom usage is the phrase that is repeated in every piece of literature you find, “consistently and correctly”.

I’m going to go hack away in a corner somewhere. Ick.

So the Pope gets up one day and decides, “Hmm, you know what I want to do? I want to fuck up some people’s life. How can I most effectively do that?” He putters around the Vatican, having people serve him tea and cater to his whims. Hell, maybe he has his own dick holder, some poor sap that screwed up his toilet flushing duties. Little does this guy know he’s about to hear the most insidious idea to be bandied around the Vatican rest room in many moons. “Ah hah!” The dick holder almost misses his cue for the three shakes and tissue wipe. “I shall impress upon my followers, that condoms are the work of the devil. Condoms must not be used!” The Pope slams his gnarled hand atop his dick holder’s cranium.

I am aware that the Catholic ignorance of no contraceptives such as condoms has been taught for a very long time, I’m just poking fun at the leadership. If you don’t like that, I don’t care. It’s not my problem.

There are over 25 million people who have died from AIDS in Africa. There’s not really much more to say about it. It boils down to a few things. Monogamy does not ensure you will remain AIDS free anywhere actually, least of all in Africa. People are, well, people, and having sex is a natural act. I do not understand why Catholics are so concerned with when, where, and how their constituents bed with one another. Telling your followers that only abstinence is the key to stopping AIDS is both false, and dangerous. People are going to have sex. They are going to get AIDS if they don’t use protection. Well, they’ll get HIV and then AIDS. People will get pregnant an deliver children with HIV who will get AIDS (or other diseases for that matter it’s not _just_ AIDS you need to worry about, people) and pass it on to others and/or die prematurely.

This is the same sort of thing that conservatives want to teach in the US. It’s not safe, it’s not intelligent, and it isn’t an issue of morality if you’re going to have sex. Sex is a normal human act between other humans. There’s nothing moral about it. It’s not a symbol of love in and of itself. Humans were having sex and animals to this day have sex, without any thought of love. It’s not abnormal. Sex _can_ be used in such a way to display love, but that isn’t what sex is all about when you lay it out on the table. Bringing a deity into it to guilt people into straying from their humanity is just silly. That’s really what’s being done. You’re being asked by an invisible man, to deny your humanity. The deity isn’t the secret tot he universe. The people who follow the deity do not have the secret to the universe. If you’re honest about it, you don’t know. No, stop denying it and just admit it. You do not know. No one really _knows_ the secrets of the universe, that’s what we have the sciences for. Faith is a lie, that it will save humanity alone is a lie.. Telling people that not using condoms is a good idea is socially irresponsible. No condoms == high potential for death (no matter where you are). Don’t believe the lie.

Wanting to do her is normal (if your sexual orientation permits), it's human. Not using a condom because you're Catholic is socially irresponsible, and stupid.

The flu. The first week of this month I had the joy of puking (no thanks to Grant this time /sadface) for an entire day. Between the painful spasms that wracked my abdomen and the blowing of my nose due to the unpleasant nature of vomit escaping into my sinus cavity I realized this truth: Nasal Wash is an entertaining experience.

I didn’t use a neti pot, but I had the joy (should I enjoy this feeling?) of forcing saline through my nose and into my sinus cavity. It was a slow warm prod, like a liquid finger just behind my eye which then exited my skull via the opposite nostril. I did this twice per nostril, and it’s definitely a unique experience. It was almost like drowning, except I could breathe through my mouth. There’s nothing quite like it I tell you.

I got to spend a lot of time watching television, and I realized just how much I hate day time TV. No wonder half the population of our country is borderline zombified. There is _nothing_ good about day time television. I have Direct TV, so I at least can get away from the talk shows and what not; however, I’ve seen every episode of CSI that has ever been created. I’ve never been so pleased to actually go to work.
