For once, the Bible got something correct. Woman is the downfall of man. If it weren’t for all this hub bub about women being able to speak and act in society, we wouldn’t have these problems.
Well, okay so I can’t really prove that….but I figured I should make fun of someone today. This does highlight a certain ethnic divide in China, which isn’t new. There have been ethnic divides in China just as in the US and other countries for centuries. To have something little like this explode like a powder keg really does highlight how fragile some of our societies can be today.

India probably has the same prejudices as the US and Japan and many other countries in that they may value lighter skin more highly. I’m guessing that’s why it’s usually the whiter ones that make it into movies and modeling.

Oh definitely. With the caste system they have in place and all of the “skin whitening” cream commercials. They are very much like that. There was in fact a blog post about this very thing by an Indian journalist that complained about the self inflicted racism within their own borders. It was related to the big call that Australians were racists for the Indian abuse that took place on some campus.
